Getting Ugly ... again!

A long time supporter of my Long Ride's has been Ugly Fish Eyewear and again the guys are back for the long haul.

Ugly Fish is an Aussie sunglass brand proudly supporting all those who want to get out and about.  They state that they "want to make sure your vision is crystal clear and your eyes are totally protected from the sun’s glare, harmful UV rays and any random flying objects."  Well, the truth of it is that is exactly what Ugly Fish sunnies or rider goggles do.

I've had a pair of Ultimate's for quite a few years now.  They've been through some of the toughest conditions on rides, from extreme heat to snow in the Victorian high country and have never let me down.

Ugly Fish has a huge range of specialised sports and everyday use polarised sunglasses and motorcycle sunglasses and goggles for active people with attitude - perfect when you need to give it everything you’ve got.

To celebrate my third Long Ride, the very good people at Ugly Fish have donated a pair of Glide sunnies setup and ready for any type of activity, especially long days on the bike.  These sunnies will be raffled off in the coming weeks so if your interested in winning a pair of these great glasses send me an email at leigh.wilkins@bigpond.com

Ugly Fish men’s sunglasses, women’s sunglasses and kid’s sunglasses are available in high quality plastic or metal frames and come in a wide choice of glass, multi-coated polycarbonate and nylon polarised lens options – taking care of your peepers no matter what the conditions.

Prescription sunglasses and bi-focal sunglasses are also available in a wide range of styles and colours. If it’s attitude you’re looking for, we’ve got it in bucket loads. So, if you haven’t wrapped a pair of Ugly Fish sunglasses around your head it’s about time you tried ‘em, after all... Everyone’s Ugly!

Check out the whole range of great 'Ugly' products at www.uglyfisheyewear.com.au, you won't wear anything else once you've tried these.

IT'S ON AGAIN

Well the time has come to start preparing for another installment of the Long Ride, this time an even more epic ride to Uluru, the red centre of Australia, via central Queensland and Mt Isa.

Starting on September 27 (Grand Final day in Victoria) the almost 10,000 kilometre ride will see a number of Victorian riders head up through central New South Wales and Queensland before heading towards Darwin.  At Tennant Creek we will turn left and head south for Alice Springs and Uluru.  Then it's the long journey home.

As with all Long Rides the aim is to raise awareness of men's health issues, especially prostate cancer and raise valuable funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia ... my goal this year is $20,000.

I'll be posting regular updates on this blog as we prepare for the ride and take on the challenge.
